Barry Max Levy, QKA is a Pension Consultant and President of Levy & Associates. A graduate of the University of Maryland, he has been a guest on financial talk radio and a featured speaker on qualified retirement plans. He has been recognized in federal and state court as an expert in the area of qualified retirement plans. He joined the predecessor organization, Leo Levy & Associates, in 1989. In 2008, after serving on ASPPA’s (American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries) Board of Directors for 5 years Mr. Levy became an officer and member of ASPPA’s Executive Committee. Currently he is ASPPA’s President-Elect, as such, amongst a number of committees, he is on the Management Council and a member of the Government Affairs Steering Committee (GAC). Locally Mr. Levy is Immediate Past President of the ASPPA Benefits Council of South Florida (ABC South Florida).
Nichola Madry is a Pension Consultant and Director of Pension Operations at Levy & Associates. She has experience with small and large defined contribution plans including those of PEOs (Professional Employer Organizations) and leasing companies. She graduated from Faulkner State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Ms. Madry is a Family Ministry and Counseling Leader, Deaconess and on the Finance Board of the New Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Ms. Madry has over 10 years of experience with qualified retirement plans. She joined Levy & Associates in 2005 where her responsibilities include client services, recordkeeping, trust accounting and administrative reporting for defined contribution plans. The American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries has awarded Ms. Madry the Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) credential. She has maintained the credential through required Continuing Professional Education study.
Laura Heitner joined Levy & Associates in 2007 as a part time assistant in our Accounting Department and quickly joined the team on a full-time basis. In 2009 she became the Director of Operations and oversees all office, accounting and human resources procedures. Laura enjoys cruising, snorkeling and spending time with her family.
Kim E. Heistand is the Plan Document and Plan Implementation Specialist for Levy & Associates with over 1twenty years of experience with qualified retirement plans. She graduated from Ohio State University with a B.A. in International Business. Ms. Heistand started her Pension career in 1982 as a Pension Administrative trainee at the Coral Gables office of Watson Wyatt Worldwide, a global pension benefits consulting firm. When she left Watson Wyatt, she was in charge of the team responsible for all distribution calculations and government filings, as well as responsible for the Defined Benefit pension administration of over 20 clients. Ms. Heistand joined Levy & Associates in 2002, where her duties have included trust accounting, plan document preparation, IRS compliance and review, and coordination of the plan implementation and termination process.
